Dear Individual Who Wants to Avoid a Fire,

As we are approaching the most incredible meal of the year it is important to practice fire safety tips. Follow these simple tips listed below to avoid a fire in your home:

  1. Test your smoke alarms to make sure they are working
  2. Have a fire extinguisher available
  3. It is imperative to stand by the food you are frying or grilling
  4. Avoid loose clothing to prevent them from catching on fire
  5. Keep turkey fryers outdoors away from flammable items and buildings
  6. Make sure the turkey is completely thawed before frying to prevent a grease fire
  7. Do not use water to put out a grease fire!
    • Use baking soda
    • Use a fire extinguisher if the fire is flaring
  8. Have someone in or near the kitchen at all times
  9. Use a timer and continuously check on the food
  10. Keep children out of the kitchen

Sincerely,

         SERVPRO of Southern Trumbull County

P.S. Enjoy your Turkey.
